Job Responsibilities

Be a friendly, warm, and welcoming face to everyone who walks in the shop.

Help people plan and get kitted out for all kinds of adventures, by selling them the high quality and specialist outdoor gear they need.

Restock the shop floor as needed.

Upload new exciting products onto the website using computer software, SEO practices, and your personal flair.

Update existing products as needed.

Manage incoming stock by creating purchase orders from supplier invoices.  Unpack and receive products, put away products in an organised fashion.  Help to restock shop products as needed.

File invoices and associated paperwork.

Where and when possible provide excellent customer service, every day and every opportunity. Further Faster has built a reputation for having friendly, honest, and knowledgeable teammates.

Gain the required product knowledge. Further Faster will provide access to clinics, literature, online resources, Sales Reps, and more but it is the responsibility of each Sales Associate to learn and retain product knowledge.  You know heaps about this already because you go on loads of adventures yourself and you like talking about your adventures too (we can’t wait to hear about them)!

Great communication is found in all successful companies. Further Faster is no different. Members of the team are expected to have effective written and verbal communication skills and use established communication systems to their fullest.

Asking for the sale is an often overlooked aspect of the job but there's a reason why "sales" is in the name of the position. All Sales Associates must develop their own personal and effective approach to closing a sale. You should be passionate about what you’re selling and share that passion with customers. If you are not really into the gear or talking to people you have only just met - stop right here - as we won’t be a good fit.

Excellent detail on the computer.  Utilise Shopify, TradeGecko, and GoSweet systems to make the store hum like  a bee.

Be a positive part of the team. If you have a sense of humour, use it. When there is an opportunity to help a co-worker, be the first to volunteer.

Keep Office tidy; help with managing composting, recycling and rubbish, run the vacuum as needed, wash up the dishes in the kitchen.

Help out with shop and product promotion through social media, this can be through Facebook posts including images of you, taking part in “beer o clock” videos, and similar.

Lift and carry boxes of deliveries and lift and carry kayaks as needed.

Other duties as assigned. Got an idea for the shop, a customer, a dog, or the beer o'clock review? Speak up! We are a small team but together we are mighty!
