Following the popularity of last year's 'Blizzards with Banter' evening, Further Faster and SlowSkinners are again kindling banter and hopefully blizzards and you're invited!
Alpine Rescue Canterbury are coming along to introduce themselves and their role in rescues for our community. Proceeds from the tickets support these volunteers to get the gear and training they need to help us when we need them most.
We've invited some ski fields to come chat about their options for ski tourers and how we can cooperate with them. Always good to get the beta!
Then we'll have an interactive route planning exercise. This is where we all learn from each other and leverage off the knowledge and experience in the room. You'll apply and hone your existing skills to make decisions for reality-based scenarios. There'll be great opportunities to share and test ideas as well as meet new potential skinners.
This is always a popular event, so grab your tickets quickly! For those who need introductions:
Further Faster is an independent outdoor shop with great gear, advice and after sales service. It gives back to our outdoor communities by sponsoring events like this to increase knowledge, safety, and stoke in our community.
SlowSkinners is a social group which aims to build experience and help apply skills learnt from courses and programs. Everyone involved is encouraged to contribute and give back through our knowledge, experience, and stoke. Key to our approach is keeping the pace achievable for everyone.
