Topo Terraventure 3 - Womens
I was looking for a grippy all-arounder trail runner for shorter runs (less than 10K generally, maybe 2x per week) on varying terrain. I don't have a wide foot but really like the generous toe box on these shoes. Similar to Altras in that regard. Grip has been great so far, with all of my runs since I received the shoes being in wet terrain; most have been in the rain. The midfoot is really secure and the heel must be, too - no sign of slipping though I do tend to wear more cushioned socks which help take up volume. They are really comfy straight out of the box. I'm still adjusting to the lower drop (3mm versus probably 9mm of my old shoe!) but I think that takes a bit of time. These shoes will show every speck of dirt and mud you run through, be warned, but it just gives you trail cred!
