Overview 

The Spitfire One is a mountaineering belay jacket built for tough, cold conditions. Heavily featured to cater for extreme technical climbing, it harnesses the high water resistance, windproof and breathable properties of PERTEX® Endurance as an impeccable outer fabric.

Internally, it uses 200g of PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation which provides a remarkably high warmth to weight ratio.

Extensively tested by Montane athletes in some of the most changeable weather conditions on earth.

Patterning and Design

• Articulated elbows to maximise arm reach and minimise lower hem lift

Zoned Insulation

• 200g PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation in the front and back body and hood, zoned with 170g insulation in the sleeves and underarm

• Extra layer of 40g PrimaLoft® GOLD insulation in front of hand pockets

Hood Configuration

• Fully adjustable helmet compatible hood with three points of adjustment

• Hood stiffened with a wire on the lip to provide shape and a foam insert to enhance visor protection

• Single hand adjustable elasticated face aperture with 'floating' cordlocks and internal cord exit for simplicity and improved functionality

Pocket Configuration

• Two A-line hand pockets with fine microfleece lining for extra warmth and comfort

• Both A-line pockets positioned well clear of a climbing harness or rucksack hip belt

• Two Napoleon chest pockets with YKK VISLON® zips

• Internal right and left hand mesh pockets for glove and water bottle storage

Centre Front Zip

• Full length two way YKK VISLON® front zip to allow easy access to climbing harness or trousers

• Easy grab U-shaped pulls for use with gloves or mitts

• Internal ‘sleeping bag’ type neck baffle to help prevent spindrift entry

Cuff and Sleeves Configuration

• Shaped cuffs with adjustable hook and loop tabs for ease of use with gloves or mitts

• D-ring sewn at forearm to attach gloves or mitt cord

Waist and Hem Construction

• Internal waist adjustment to pull rear jacket closer to lumbar

• Fully adjustable lower hem to prevent heat loss and weather entry

• MONTANE® single pull ‘penny cordlock’ on lower hem sides to create a low profile for comfort under a climbing or rucksack harness
