Used these on the tops in the Tararuas when there was a good amount of ice and snow. Gave me a lot of extra security with my footing and they fitted my sawela boots nicely without needing a fully rigid crampon ready boot. I threaded my laces through the holes on the heel to additionally secure them. Zero issues. They stayed in place on inclines no problems.
they work fine until the rubber gets wet at which point they will slide off the heal, there are eyelets built into them for a heal strap to prevent this find a strap and get them sorted prior to a trip. they do work well on slick rock and icy rocks :)
Great crampons, work really well. Used mainly in bush areas for the grip, rather than in snow, but still do a good job. Fantastic service from Further Faster too who sold me the product.
Lovely feeling secure and stable,
Whilst all around are scarcely able
To put one foot forward up the hill.
I crunch through snow that’s half leg deep,
Up and down that hill so steep,
Absolutely no need to creep!
Brought a set of these for taking up the mountain to help climbing up the mountain.
Put them on over my trail shoes, very comfortable... Couldn't even feel them, but could certainly feel the benefits of them.
Really helped, would not have made it up the mountain without them.
